| Final Photo Shooting in Tunis |
|
The first stop was in the famous Roman coliseum at El Djem, but the final destination of this journey was Douz, “The door of Sahara” as they call it. Nina Rajbar, who took care of our finalists, woke them up at four o’clock in the morning next day for early photo shooting. Our desert guide Ammar led us to the beautiful spot in the abandoned Barbarian village, where we made some of the most beautiful photos of our final photo shooting. Nina Pečovnik, Nives Brauner, Sabina Rajh and Nikolina Pavljinić had great opportunity to work in Sahara for the first time in their life. The photographer was Dejan Nikolič, make-up artist Anja Vodopivec, hairstylist Smiljan Škarica and stylist was Matevž Faganel. Team went to Touzer after photo shooting, to the city that is famous because of thousands of date palms. On the way there, we stopped in the middle of Chott El Djerid salt desert to make some photos. The heat was unbearable, probably more than 50 degrees above zero, and member of our team Dejan Ozimič really had to sweat, before he brought all the stuff necessary for photo shooting to the shooting place. After fifteen minutes we were in our air-conditioned bus again. In El Mouradi hotel in Touzer we had lunch and photo shooting for hotel. The hotel staff were very hospitable. They offered finalists to refresh in hotel swimming pool. At this occasion our cameraman Dejan Paska and reportage photographer Viljam Klemenčič made some attractive photos. We were back on the road again. Destination was El Mouradi hotel in Hammamed, our home for that week. Neja, our tourist guide from our sponsor Oasis tourist agency, showed us Kairouan, the Muslim holy city and its famous mosque. We made a quick stop just to take a few nice photos and then we were back on the bus again. Our next photo shooting place was picturesque village Sidi Bou Said near Tunis, capital city of Tunisia. White houses with blue doors and windows in the middle of bougainvillea flowers were the right place for photo shooting for Sandra Đurković, Ivana Paun and Mateja Švec. Last few days were reserved for amusement and relaxation, although, Bernie Marovt decided to organize catwalk lessons for our finalists, because they have to be prepared for Superfinals in September. We went to the capital city of Tunisia for shopping and to see everything that is worth seeing the day before our departure and decided to see the ruins of ancient city of Cartage. The girls bought some souvenirs and took advantage of beautiful spots to make some private photos. Last day we spent lying on the beach, playing volleyball, swimming in the hotel’s swimming pool and just relaxing. This beautiful seven days passed so fast but they will stay in our memory. text :Lucijan Vihar photos : Dejan Nikolič, Viljam Klemenčič
